Patriot Joseph Hart Commemoration

Each year in May Joseph Hart Chapter members gather at the gravesite of Patriot Joseph Hart for a memorial ceremony for all known patriots who died/were buried in Bartholomew County.

They read what we know of each of the patriots and remember each one individually and place a flag at Joseph Hart’s grave.   This year they have invited a military honor guard to be part of the ceremony.  They would love to have those interested to join them.

Those who attend generally meet for lunch after the ceremony and then attend their monthly meeting beginning at 1:00pm, at the Jeanne Lewellen Norbeck Chapel at Bakalar.  The program for the meeting is the organizing lead of the honor guard, David Newmister, who will teach attendees about the ceremony.  Anyone who attends in the morning is welcome to stay for part or all of the rest of the day
