The Gov. Isaac Shelby Chapter will host the 2026 Battle of Blue Licks Memorial Ceremony will be held next month on Saturday, 15 August, at 10:00 a.m. This national color guard event takes place at Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park near Carlisle, Kentucky. Attached are the event flyer and a list of nearby accommodations.

The 2026 Battle of Blue Licks Memorial Ceremony is recognized as an official America 250 KY event.

Anyone wishing to present a wreath, participate in the color guard, or join the gun salute should contact Scott Giltner at stgilt@earthlink.net . To have your wreath listed in the printed program, please register it by 5:00 p.m. on 10 August.

If you plan to attend, please indicate whether you will be bringing your state flag. Color guard participants are asked to muster at 8:45 a.m. at the monument on the morning of the ceremony.

Participants carrying flintlock firearms will muster for the safety inspection near the lodge at 8:30 a.m.

Detailed instructions regarding color guard procedures and mustering points will be distributed closer to the ceremony date.

Several additional events in the park are scheduled as part of the broader Battle of Blue Licks weekend:

  • SAR Fife and Drum Presentation – Friday, 14 August (Blue Licks Encampment area)
    Blue Licks Battle Reenactment – Saturday, 15 August (Blue Licks State Park)
    SAR Presentation on Frontier Food – Sunday, 16 August (Blue Licks Encampment area)

The state park is also recruiting reenactors for the battle reenactment and living‑history presenters for the weekend encampment. A flyer with contact information for those interested in participating is attached.
